Sony Bravia - color like.no.other

Sitting at my computer, completly amazed by something I have seen on the internet has not been a thought or feeling I have had in a long time. But when browsing the internet and watching Sony's new "playdoh" advert I decided to check out the Sony Bravia website and I am truely thankfull I did.

I sat there for 30 minutes playing about and looking at the different webpages and features that have been added, I can not get over the innovative design and use of flash.

Website features:
I can not decide whether it is the colorwall, the interactive download section or the bouncing ball in a black room feture that has gripped me the most. You sit with this little pink ball throwing it about a room with, apparently, no sides and a sea of sound and colour explodes out of nowhere as the ball seems to bounce about hitting different surfaces, depending on how much power you "threw" the ball with. I found myself lost for about 30 minutes with this feature of the website, oblivious to the fact that my food was getting cold.  The interactive downloads section was also mesmerizing in the fact that there was an array of colourfull images on the screen and the user can click and drag to resize them in real time. Then access to the downloads was simple yet there was loads of images from the new and older bravia adverts available for
download. The colorwall concept seemed clever but for some reason I could not get it working
smooth enough to thoroughly examine it.

The bravia adverts have been, for some time, an exciting thing to watch, hear and read about for me over the last few years. The making of the adverts are fantastic in the way that you wouldn't comprehend unless you watched the making of programmes. From millions of bouncy balls being let loose in San Fran to gallons of paint being exploded in Glasgow
Sony have kept many people intersted and excited about their next comercial.

The new "play doh" advert is amazing. Sony have taken 200 bunnies and covered them in 2.5 tones of plasticine. Stop motion has became a massive crowd puller on sites such as Youtube, Break and other online video sites. Sony knows what us - the audience and consumer - love and have bracned into this and created an amazing stop motion advert unleashing thousands of play doh bunnies in New York. It seems from reading many reviews and comments about the making of this advert that it took alot of meticulous planning and was an incredible pain in the arse making this advert. Sonys creativeness and development teams just seem to pack a massive punch and really does make it's mark on modern day advertising.

Everyone knows that we now live in what is primarily a visual age and this is why I take my hat off to Sony, Their current webdesign team and Ad team deserve a well deserved pat on the back.

Sythetic Fabrication Info

Sythetic fabrication is the conjoined efforts of me, Graeme McGrogan and Euan Matthews. We suddenly had the brainwave whilst - randomly - surfing the internet in Euan's house that we should do a cooperative blog together,  fusing the thoughts and ideas of ourselves together.

We basically have no theme for this blog, but you should expect posts to do with the likes of our common interests,  such as : Technology advancements, computer news and articles, graphical design ideas and other computery and artsy
(for lack of better words) subjects. We will also occasionally post about our adventures as the dynamic duo that we are, haha.

Watch this space for further updates and feel free to comment and leave feedback.
